In this how to, you will learn how to change your or any user’s password through different methods.

If you are already logged in to your site, you can easily change your password in the Profile section.

  • Step 1: Go to Admin >>> Users >>> Profile.
  • Step 2: Scroll down to the “Account Management” section.
  • Step 3: Click on the “Set new password” button.
  • Step 4: Write your new password.
  • Step 5: Click the “Update Profile” button at the bottom of the page.

After you have set your “My Account” page in the Advanced section of the Shop Settings, you (or your colleagues or your customers) can access it to change the password.

  • Step 1: Go to your “My Account” page. By default, it should be something like <yourdomain>/my-account/. Replace <yourdomain> with your actual domain and /my-account/ with the slug of your configured page.
  • Step 2: Click on the “Edit Account” tab on the left sidebar.
  • Step 3: Enter your current password and your new password (twice) on the indicated fields.
  • Step 4: Click the “Save Changes” button.

If you are not currently logged in the system, you will be shown a Login page instead of the “My Account Dashboard”. You will have to enter your credentials or click on the “Lost your password?” link to reset it.

If you are the admin of your site, you can easily send a request to your users for them to reset their passwords via email. To do so, follow these simple steps:

  • Step 1: Go to Admin >>> Users >>> All Users.
  • Step 2: Hover over the username in the first column.
  • Step 3: Click on the “Send password reset” link.

You can select multiple users using the checkboxes on the left of the first column and click on the “Bulk actions” dropdown to send multiple password resets at once.

Alternatively, you can access the “Lost password” page directly and request a password reset via email for yourself (or your colleagues or customers).

  • Step 1: Go to <yourdomain>/my-account/lost-password. Replace <yourdomain> with your actual domain and /my-account/ with the slug of your configured page.
  • Step 2: Enter your email or username.
  • Step 3: Click the “Reset password” button.
